Might As Well Jump
Put yourself in Johnny Utah's (Keanu Reeves) shoes. You've spent a whole movie trying to catch the Ex-Presidents bank robbers, only for their leader (Patrick Swayze) to escape justice by jumping out of a plane hatch. He had the only parachute. Sure, you're peeved, but do you jump after him? Of course you wouldn't. Johnny does, in what must be one of the least convincing action flourishes ever. And that's precisely what makes it so wonderfully jaw-dropping - that unbelievable moment, as followed by the skydive-chase, freefalling punch up and final, last-minute 'chute-opening just before the pair thwack dirt.
