A look that started a fashion revolution, as well as forming the basis of Diane Keaton’s wardrobe ever since, the combination of baggy trousers, waistcoats and occasional girlie touches (floaty dresses, floppy hats) defined the late 1970s and, more importantly, absolutely summed up Annie’s carefree, eccentric and slightly neurotic character before Keaton even opened her mouth. Keaton’s off-screen efforts haven’t always been so successful, but this look caught the spirit of a generation.
