36 Must-Pause Moments From The Wolverine Trailer
A screengrab-by-screengrab account of Logan’s return...

Wolverine – in the movie version of his character, anyway – still hates flying, clutching onto the armrest like his life depended on it. Note the (hopefully Suntory) whisky he’s drinking to calm his nerves.

The Wolverine Trailer

Incidentally, the not-liking-flying thing was Jackman’s idea. Here’s the animalistic Australian on the topic back in 2009: "I think ever since I saw the Indiana Jones movies and [saw] he was scared of snakes... I kinda loved the idea of someone with that kind of vulnerability. [Someone] who probably wouldn't appreciate being out of control in the air."

1 Days of future past, present....future
I'm not a big reader of the graphic novels for X-Men so do not know the backstory too well but I'm holding onto hope that this and the X-Men First Class movies will be better than their respective predecessors. The last truely good X-Men movie was X2 and I just didn't enjoy First Class as much as other people (The first Origins movie sucked big time also). So hopefully X-Men is set for a bright future and looking at this trailer, I am causiously hopeful...... More

3 Finally!
I was interested in this movie, but this scene of Logan with Jean made up my mind. I'm definitely going to go see it. I've always loved the Jean Grey/Phoenix character, and I hated the hatchet job Bret Ratner did on her in 'Last Stand'. No fire in her eyes, no firebird, just black eyes and black veins under her skin when she used her powers. It was obvious Ratner just didn't give a damn about her. Pathetic. Maybe this retcon (or whatever this is) will result in Jean showing up in Singer's 'Days of Future Past'. More

4 Hallucinating
Gazzabrook - I think Viper may use venom/toxins to make people hallucinate. I think it was looking promising until the train bit. But I still maintain that Jackman would not have done this if he thought it was going to be bad, especially after Origins. More

5 Viper confusion
I'm a bit confused as to the portrayal of Viper, this is Viper as in Madame HYDRA, correct ??? Who has not snake like powers at all in fact she has now power at all. the only other people in the Marvel universe whom have took the name Viper are Men - so Why does the trailer show her "shedding" skin More

6 The Silver samurai suit isn't massive...
It's obviously mounted up high on a wall therefore the perspective of the shot makes it look as though it's huge. More

I thought I made it clear enough when I said "genuine pain" -- I haven't done so, I see that now! What I'm talking about is pain with consequence. More

I would think that the picture of Buddha would indicate that it was a buddhist shrine..;) but looks good! missing a geisha or two though to complete the Japan tropes set. More

9 Pain
You keep mentioning about Wolverine feeling pain - he always has done. He's never been immune to pain. Had high hopes for this which are dwindling a bit now I see there's a whole removal of powers story. Then again, I've sat through Origins a few times and it's bound to be better than that! More

10 Optimistic...
Looks a bit shinier than i would have liked, a bit too in line with the existing x-aesthetic of shiny silver everywhere when from the way Mangold and Jackman have been on about it i expected something a bit grimier and browner and more adult... but I'm holding out hope since they have a great angle here, and this could well end up the movie the character deserves. Mangold's 3:10 to Yuma was genuinely great, would have liked to see a vibe to this closer to that, with blood and pain death. This seems (at least visually) a bit too popcorny and 3D-happy, considering that Wolvie is potentially the most R-rated mainstream superhero out there. I'd like to see some real brutality with the claws. Do it Hunger Games style, you can be violent without forfeiting you 12A rating! More
