MIDNIGHT IN PARIS (2011)

Tom Hiddleston, Midnight In Paris (2011)

Should Hollywood make an F. Scott Fitzgerald biopic (and it should because his life was movie catnip) Hiddleston would do a mighty job of filling the literary giant's handmade brogues. We know this because he's already done it once, in Woody Allen’s hit time-travel-romance-comedy. Allen did a fine job with the story - finally, someone prepared to make Paris look romantic! – but Hiddo brought refinement and dash to the secretly bruised writer. His disintegrating marriage to Zelda (Alison Pill) is subsidiary in the movie, but was made a lot more, er, sidiary by the actor’s charm and depth.

1 Just 6 of his many talented roles...
He really is a wonderful actor, I love Midnight In Paris & I was lucky enough to see Coriolanus both in person and at the NTLive screening. He's the reason I refound my love of acting. He's a wonderful human being too. More

all the works of Mr Hiddleston aka T-Hiddy is amazing, but my favorite: the number 4, yep. I discovered existence of this man with this movie; and when I saw in Coriolanus, well... That's it, case closed... More

Dear Empire, Thanks for feeding us regular bits about Tom. Love the guy. I had the chance to see him live in Coriolanus and agree with Pennj that he was fantastic in that too. I still need to check out the Joanna Hogg movies though. More

My new favourite actor, he seems intelligent, sincere and hard-working. And he made me cry for a megalomaniac who wants to enslave humanity! No mean feat! More

7 Coriolanus
Hello! Missed the best one, Coriolanus. I could write essays to describe his performance, but to be honest, there are better reviewers than me. All i can add is go and see the National Theatre showing at your local cinema. Truly, this man portrays emotional angst, anger, conceit, sarcasm and vulnerability like no other actor, that I can think of, in his particular age group. More
