This Oscar Faux Pas
It is one of the great examples of Spielberg lore. To celebrate Jaws success in the 1976 Academy Awards nominations, Spielberg invited an LA TV news crew to capture his reactions as the nominations were announced. Confidently predicting a clean sweep across the board, Spielberg was humiliated to see that the film picked up only four nominations and that he himself was not nominated.
