Bourne scripter Tony Gilroy's helming debut is moody and intense, an old-school courtroom drama with superb performances from George Clooney and a vanity free Tilda Swinton. It demands patience and intelligence from its audience, which is never something to be criticised.

Best Bit: The horrifically cold and clinical assassination scene.
