Spotify Playlist: Now That's What I Call... Quentin Tarantino!
When you absolutely, positively need a QT music playlist

submit to reddit

Quentin Tarantino is not what anyone would call a musical ignoramus. Littering his films with unearthed pop gems, every movie he directs is an opportunity to hear which soon-to-be-classics have made the cinephile’s favourite audiophile's iPod of late. So to celebrate another flick through Mr. Tarantino’s record collection in the form of Django Unchained, here’s a 33 track-strong playlist of the choicest QT cuts, from Little Green Bag to, well… you’ll have to find out for yourself.

Please note: You'll have to sign-up to Spotify to listen to the tracks here. Otherwise, scribble 'em down and head to your music retailer of choice.

1 Death Proof
Lotts of great use of songs in Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs outside of thoes two films I like the way he used "Hold Tight!" by Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich, "Across 110th Street" by Bobby Womack and Peace in the start of Jackie Brown and "Woo Hoo" (cover The Rock-A-Teens) by The 5.6.7.8's in Kill Bill Part 1. He was also an executive producer for both the film and soundtrack, not just screenwriting and starring. Also, it's pretty obvious a majority of the material from the FDTD soundtrack originates from QT's record collection. More

L: Jedi723 From Dusk Til Dawn wasn't his movie though. He starred in it, but it was Robert Rodriguez's movie. e did write the screenplay for FDTD but that would open the scope to True Romance (Hans Zimmers theme, Wounded Birds), Natural Born Killers and possibly Four Rooms. More

What about "Hold Tight!" by Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich, from the Death Proof soundtrack? Very surprised that it wasn't included especially since it's a topic of discussion in the movie itself. More
