Brave (2012) Pixar's first princess story wasn't meant to be any such thing. For a long time, the storytellers tried to make her a shepherd, a blacksmith's daughter, anything but a princess. But the only way they could find to raise the stakes sufficiently for the titian-haired heroine was to make her royalty. Still, when it looks this gorgeous, who cares?
