Lucifer - Constantine (2005)

Constantine

That’s another one where I arrive late. It’s a good way to steal a movie! I deliberately decided to make that a really big, OTT performance. At the beginning they wanted me just in like leather pants, and bare-chested, with a lot of tattoos. I sat down with the director and the head producer – the two smart guys – and said that, if I was doing this on stage, if I was the director I would just dress the devil up in an off-white linen suit, with black tar on his feet, and maybe a strange haircut to make him look a little weird. I thought if he looked like a Christmas tree nobody would listen to what he was saying, but if he’s dressed very neutral, like you would do on stage, then you’d hear every word. Finally they agreed, and I’m very happy that they did. I think it would have been really bad if we hadn’t gone that route.

1 I never saw Star Wars
That line in Armageddon always bugged me: "You ever heard of Evel Knievel?" "No, I never saw Star Wars." If you've never heard of Evel Knievel, why would you associate him with a movie you never saw??! Either he's just making two totally unrelated statements for some reason ("I've never heard of him, and also I've never seen Star Wars"), or he HAS heard of Evel Knievel, and thinks he's a character from Star Wars, a movie he's never seen. 2 RE: What about...
Yeah Empire. Why didn't you ask him about every role in his entire career? How dare you just pick 10? You should have talked to him for at least 19 hours. You didn't even talk to him about his theatre work in Sweden in the 70's! What kind of show are you running! More

5 Great actor
Yes, Fargo has the quintessential Stomare villain, but I also absolutely LOVE him in Minority Report. Such a seedy bastard. You feel like taking a shower after that whole sequence. Freakin' love that movie. More
