Oscar Nominees 2012: Best Supporting Actress | Jessica Chastain (The Help)
Jessica Chastain (The Help)

Why She Will Win

With roles in nearly every noteworthy film of 2011 (OK, so five of them), she’s officially So Hot Right Now.
Among The Help’s shallow social butterflies, she’s the convincingly classy one. Dismissed as the others as a money-grabbing social climber, she displays more grace than any of her detractors and brings both tragedy and comedy to the film, especially in her scenes with Spencer.
As her Vanity Fair cover proves, she’ll bring old-school glamour to the speeches.

 Why She Won't Win

She’s better in The Tree Of Life and wasn’t even nominated for that.
If anyone wins for The Help in this category, it’ll surely be Octavia Spencer.
With so many films out in the past 12 months, has she spread herself a little thin?
