Who got hurt? Robert Downey Jr.

What happened? In his attempt to ramp up the action quotient of Sherlock Holmes, Guy Ritchie stuffed Robert Downey Jr. in a boxing ring with 7-foot tall former pro wrestler Robert Maillet playing Holmes' opponent. The result? One knocked-out actor.

"During the filming of a fight scene, Downey Jr. was knocked unconscious when Maillet accidently connected with a massive hook on Downey's chin," reported Movies Online. "Downey Jr. was thrown into the air and onto the ground. He was reportedly out cold for several seconds and drooling blood before medics revived him. He required 6 stitches in the mouth to close a nasty cut caused by the punch."

As apparantly usual in these sorts of stories, RDJ was quickly back on set after his recovery. Bet he wished he'd had his Iron Man helmet.
