45 Astonishing Movie Star Music Video Cameos
Garfield, LaBeouf and Baruchel have come to party

submit to reddit

It’s fair to say that the pop world has had better luck in Tinseltown than Hollywood’s finest have had bashing out chart-topping ditties. Need proof? Just hit play on Steven Seagal’s ear-burning Songs From The Crystal Cave, try to lay your hands on Bruce Willis’ The Return Of Bruno or listen to just anything by Russell Crowe’s 30 Odd Foot Of Grunt. Of course, there are minor exceptions – Scarlett and Zooey, take a bow – but as a rule, actors’ musical ambitions are served best with sparkling cameos in music videos. There they can wow us without being allowed anywhere near an instrument. Of course, there are too many examples to list them all, but here are a few we love – and a few almost too terrible to mention.

Angelina Jolie

Track: Rock & Roll Dreams Come Through
Artist: Meatloaf
Year: 1993

If you thought the idea of Meatloaf chatting up a young Angelina Jolie sounds creepy, well, you’re right – it is creepy. Then again, this is a Meatloaf video – a Meatloaf video directed by Michael Bay, no less – so what were you expecting, something that didn’t involve Mr. Loaf chatting up a hot girl? Well, quite. For more Meatloaf / Bay music video funtimes, check out I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)  and Objects in the Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer than They Are, which may or may not include gothic imagery, explosions and/or hot women. Hint: they do.

4 RE: How DARE you forget...............
L: Necroscope6408 How on earth could anyone forget the late, great Freddie Mercury swordfighting with Christopher Lambert in the video for Princes of the Universe by Queen or Rhys Ifans in the excellent video for Oasis' The Importance of Being Idle. Empire, I suggest you compile a top 100 list rather than a very poor 26. Whoever put this together really does not know their "stuff." a nanosoceond - literally BLINK and you would miss him.......pity though More
