Empire's Ultimate Collection Of Movie Supercuts
150 of your finest pop culture megamixes, all in one place

submit to reddit

Blogger Andy Baio came up with the term 'supercut' for an internet phenomenon he describes as "a genre of video meme, where some obsessive-compulsive superfan collects every phrase/action/cliche from an episode (or entire series) of their favorite show/film/game into a single massive video montage." In the following 24 pages, we've collated over 150 of our favouries pieces of pop culture pinnickityness, mostly centred around film with a few TV numbers at the end. Of course, there are many more supercuts out there, so if you have one you'd like to suggest for a certain list, please do so in the comment box below.

P.S. Some of the best supercuts - including this Shaun Of The Dead callbacks number - can't be embedded, so that may be why you're favourite hasn't made it onto this feature...

4 RE: 50 years of James Bond
Oh, so you do know "50 years of James Bond" is not a supercut, and yet you added it to a list called "Ultimate Collection of Movie Supercuts" just cause you love it? How does the criteria "it's just that I love it" fit into the "ultimate" concept? I thought this was "Empire's Ultimate Collection of Movie Supercuts", not "Ali Plumb's favorite supercuts and non-supercuts". More

5 RE: Clara Darko
Maybe you're not actually "ignoring" me, and you simply ignore my existence. Which is amazing, cause an article like this should require a lot of searching, to really find the best supercuts out there. And you actually came across my channel, cause you featured a video uploaded in it ("Looking at you", which is my husband's work), but you never had a look at the rest of the montages? More

6 50 years of James Bond
I know it's not a supercut, it's just that I love it and I wanted to celebrate it in the Bond section. More

8 By the way...
You guys don't seem to know what a supercut is exactly, cause I see you included Kees van Dijkhuizen's "50 years of James Bond", which is no supercut at all, it's 100% editing, no repetition, but a montage in dramatic progression. And I also see you included "20 Movie Knockouts - Face Punch Supercut" which is ridiculous: only 20 films (that can't even be called "supercut"), a few of them are not even punches but slaps (not the same, are they?) and there is some TV series in there too ("Movie Knockouts"? Hello???). Try this instead: 80 movie fights and face punches in less than 4 minutes. It's edited as a montage, not as a supercut, but since you don't seem to care about that distinction, you could have featured it instead of that lousy "20 Movie Knockouts". Also, in the making of this compilation, you should have found my raining montage, my crying montage, my monsters montage, etc. More

9 One question for you, Empire team
I am ClaraDarko, movie montage editor with more than 2,000 subscribers in Youtube and hundreds of videos edited. I really want to ask you: among these 150 supercuts, how many are edited by women? Cause I keep feeling the world of supercuts and movie montages is a male world, and I know that my videos are good, but you guys keep ignoring me. I have around 30 huge montages and most of them hardly get any views at all, but some of them are much better, more entertaining, more complete and more professional than some of the supercuts you've featured in this article. More views doesn't always mean more quality, that should be obvious. Look for me on Youtube or DailyMotion. More
