After a fairly low-key start to his career, things have really bloomed over the past couple of years for the 35 year-old American. His combination of leading man good looks and fine, nuanced acting chops brought him roles in the likes of Little Children, Hard Candy and Phantom Of The Opera (where he showed off a fine set of pipes). But it was in this month's Watchmen, with his touching portrayal of a superhero reconnecting with his purpose, that Wilson finally showed that he can be much more than just another addition to the 'That Guy' ranks.

Although I love Mr Stewart, I have to go with Patrick Warburton - fantastic as The Tick he also showed up in the criminally underated Disney film The Emperors New Groove as Kronk, the all muscle, no brain sidekick.
