The body count in Rambo is a hair under 300, and they’re almost all in the last hour – so to say that there’s violence would be an understatement. But amid the exploding heads comes this little beauty, wherein Rambo (Sylvester Stallone of course) sneaks up behind a Burmese soldier and, as the guy turns, thwacks his head right off. In the final film it’s clear Rambo’s wielding a machete but in the initial trailer – shot low, wide and very dark – the blurry blade was almost invisible. The result? A shot of John Rambo punching a guy’s head clean off his freakin’ shoulders! Who needs a machete when the sheer awesome gratuitousness of a Stallone punch will do the job alone?
