As Ralph Macchio’s Danny LaRusso struggles on to his final fight at the All-Valley Karate Tournament versus bitter adversary Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), he falls foul to the unethical moves plotted by Cobra Kai sensei John Kreese. But summoning the power from within, and with Mr Miyagi (Pat Morita) waiting patiently by, Danny rises up into the crane (with a fair amount of hopping on his injured knee) and artfully kicks his opponent – POW! Right in the kisser! This classic move is a testament to the boy done good, rising up to the challenge and using balance and control over brute force to finish the job and the film in style. It's not a killing move, but it emphatically finishes the match and earns him a place here.
