Things are not looking good for our hero, Eric (Wesley Snipes) – sorry, Blade. After all, Stephen Dorff has become one with the blood god, La Magra, and has been kicking his ass. Luckily, Blade’s vampire-killing chemical – which Dorff’s Deacon Frost thinks is a serum - is at hand, wedged in some rock. Flipping up his funky sword to dislodge it, the vials of anti-coagulant drop down. Blade spins, unnecessarily, to catch them and then – quick as a flash – sends them flying into Frost’s forehead, causing him to swell up into a giant corpuscle of crimson, before exploding. The finishing move itself is decent, but not Blade’s best, but we’ve included it here because of Blade’s one-liner: “Some motherfuckers are always trying to ice-skate uphill.” It is utterly surreal, shows much more imagination than the average kiss-off, and is quite possibly genius. Frankly, we’d love to have been at the brainstorming session – some motherfuckers are always trying to play Scrabble in the dark?
