Arguably the downright nastiest move on the list, this sees racist thug Derek Vinyard (Edward Norton) fight back against the hoodlums who are trying to steal his car late one night. Clad only in boxers, with swastika tattoo proudly on display, Vinyard shoots one thug dead and drags his injured accomplice to the kerb, turning him around and telling him to “Put your fucking mouth on the kerb!”. Then he stomps, hard, on the back of the man’s head. Disturbing on so many levels – the violence, the racist hate, the tattoos, Edward Furlong’s young Danny screaming in the background – it’s the expression of righteous contentment on Derek’s face afterwards that really chills.
