It's possible to miss quite a lot of the action of Road House in a haze of admiration for Sam Elliot's bouffant rock star hairdo, but one move will penetrate even that fug. Yes, it's the moment when Patrick Swayze’s Dalton abandons his self-imposed code of non-violence (the guy’s a student of philosophy, people; he’s deep) and reveals that the reason he tries to avoid laying the smackdown is that he’s just so darn good at it. As demonstrated when he tires of trading blows with one of the town heavies and just rips the guy’s throat out. Sartre would be proud.
