London 2012 may have been a triumph for both Team GB and the capital itself, but as it winds down we're already looking ahead. No, not to Rio in 2016 - but beyond! Which city will host the 2020 Olympics? Such a futuristic date requires an appropriately out-there host city, and we have some fabulous examples drawn from the movies. Here, Empire's finest concept artists put together their visions of what a few movie city Olympic bids might look like...

On posters alone, my vote's on Minas Tirith or Tron City. Is this Steward of Gondor Minas Tirith or King Aragorn Minas Tirith, though? Vastly different propositions there... More

2 LOTR!
Lovely to see that LOTR has two entries. Minas Tirith for all the action - river for canoe, kayak, sailing, etc. - plains for all the track and field and equestrian events - the city itself for cycling (gotta love the cobblestones) . Hobbiton, of course, is the Olympic village. Party on! More

They should have created the circles with the bikes beam on the track.... that would have looked much better. I did however really like the Cloud City one... great concept :) More
