Drugstore Cowboy
It's a great poster, full of Gen X 'tude, but it doesn't exactly scream 'drug addiction': compare and contrast with the end-of-the-line mordancy of Requiem For A Dream's one-sheet or the alienation that drips from Midnight Cowboy's promo. The poster would work if instead of Gus van Sant, Drugstore Cowboys had been directed by, say, Cameron Crowe, and instead of hooning vast amounts of heroin, the doe-eyed Matt Dillon spent the movie hanging around Seattle nightclubs talking about girls. It wasn't, so it doesn't.
