Matt Damon: The Most Self-Deprecating Star In Hollywood
Mayoral Endorsement

At first glance this seems less funny and less self-deprecating than the rest, but bear with us. The less self-deprecating isn't terribly surprising, given that Damon's very serious about his politics (check out his takedown of Sarah Palin for proof), and the less funny part is at least partly down to the fact that Mayor Bloomberg is not one of history's greatest actors, but what makes this clip worthwhile is Damon's facial expression at the end as he rather stiffly delivers his endorsement, looking like a primary school actor trying desperately to remember his lines while staring fixedly at his mum.

I've loved Matt Damon for such a long time and its precisely because of his totally obvious down to earth personality he has.  I just sat and hooted through all those clips, despite seeing most of them before.  I think my personal favourite and the one I've watched the most is the red carpet bump by Guillermo because you can tell this one wasn't planned.  Matt's face when he realises Guillermo is with Kemmel's show is brilliant - you can see it in his reluctant grin that he's thinking, 'oh no, he didn't just do that to me!'  You can see he's walking away thinking 'the swine!'  I absolutely love it. As for Team America - I actually sometimes get frustrated by the constant quoting of that because, his ability for self deprecation aside, I genuinely rate Matt Damon as an actor, and I can't say ghim in that respect without yecting with 'Maaatt Daaamon', it can get so tedious if you're trying to enjoy a serious conversation about him.  That said, I Read More
