| 1 | More like Lucas sold it to Disney.... |
Has anyone ever asked themselves who all was considered to take over when George was done? I imagine it was a pretty short list. And looking back in time...yea, i'm old too...George has had a long history with Disney. And when i heard the news....no suprise. But when you take into consideration of everthing else that "mickey" has his hands in I don't think it's as big a deal as most people seem to make it. As for J.J., i got faith, i've liked a lot of his work. Question is who will do Episode VIII? More

Disney buys Lucasfilm. My reaction.....oh well, they can't mess it up any more than the prequals did.
Abrams is directing......ok, NOW I'm excited. Hurry up and make it ! More

| 4 | Hmm... not my choice |
I think Abrams is a little too quirky for Star Wars. I don't want someone putting a twisty/lens-flarey slant on Star Wars, just someone willing to follow the style of the original trilogy. That being said, he was probably the biggest Star Wars fan on the shortlist so I hope he's gonna prove me wrong. More

| 9 | .... steady now .... |
Lets not all soil our underwear at once nerd-herders. I, for one, am experienced (read old) enough to vividly remember the laundry bill when Lucas confirmed Episode 1 (and I'm still trying to forget the even larger one when we watched it!!) Still, I'd bet my home planet that it's not gonna say Jar Jar Abrams on his birth certificate. More

| 10 | RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE! |
I'm a fan of both Star Trek and Star Wars, so I'm really excited to see what JJ will do with Wars. He knows that he's gonna have to make it as different to Trek as he can.
So many franchise stans on here rabble rousing!
It would be kind of amazing if he opened VII at the start of Episode One and just pulled a Trek and told the prequels in another universe. More

John Noble would be great.. but Joshua Jackson also has a distinct Jedi quality about him.
IRC Joshua Jackson was one of the leading contenders for the role of Anakin Skywalker. So maybe they could make up for that this time around and make him a son of Han and Leia or some such? More

I would love to see John Noble in almost anything, I already miss Walter :(
I'd just like to point out on page 2 that umm, we STILL don't know what LOST's island was 'all about' - the finale revealed bugger all - the biggest anti-climax in the history of television
know that this is straying OT but did people honestly not get what the Island was "all about" on Lost? They spent quite a bit of time towards the end dealing with that. Including an entire episode dedicated to the Island's ancient history. More

| 17 | 8 bad reasons |
Lost sucked...MI3 sucked...Fringe eventually sucked so I'm told, only produced Cloverfield...super 8 was good but not great...Star trek is his best so far, should stick to it.......Spielberg wannabe...who actually doesn't deserve to lace the boots of the great man....oh wow is that the God light (lens flare) again...not happy with this...hope I'm wrong More

| 19 | Oh yeah |
That is the single best reason I've heard for JJ doing Star Wars - John Noble getting a role in the franchise. That man is so good, I could watch him in anything.
Walter, your second big screen franchise awaits you.
