10 Great Jack Black Performances Carl Denham King Kong
Eyebrows were raised when Peter Jackson cast Black as the ambitious, conniving movie producer, Carl Denham, whose actions are pivotal in the discovery and capture of the giant ape. But Black's background is in serious acting (remember that connection with Tim Robbins), and he gives a fine, restrained performance here as a man who is consumed by greed. Best moment: His constant promises to dedicate the movie he's making on Skull Island to the lost members of his crew, as they drop like flies. Does he sing? No, although Black did perform a Kong theme song for Saturday Night Live. None more Black? The braggadocio and the preening showiness seems familiar. Otherwise, though, this is Black holding back.

"Although Nacho Libre isn't an entirely successful attempt to blend the innocent appeal of School Of Rock (Mike White wrote both movies) with the off-beat dynamics of Napoleon Dynamite (Jared Hess directed both)..."
I thought Richard Linklater directed School of Rock?
sp;
Empire are saying Jared Hess directed both Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre, not School of Rock & Napoleon Dynamite. Read More
