How To Win At Poker, The Movie Way
If You're Going To Cheat, Try Cheating On A Really Big Scale
Kaleidoscope (1966)
Now here's a good idea. Instead of mucking about (pun intended) with little league cheating, marking cards and performing sleight of hand tricks, why not go right to the very source? Why not go to the factory and minutely alter the plates that are used to print the backs of cards, just so you can read exactly what they are without your opponents knowing how? That's what Barney Lincoln did, and yes, he absolutely coins it. Sure, it requires a bit of sneaky cat burglary in the card factory, but after that? You're minted, my son. [Ed's note - we're not actually suggesting you should break into Bicycle Cards Inc. At all.]
The players: Barney Lincoln (Warren Beatty) against Harry Dominion (Eric Porter)
Decisive cards: Name 'em, it doesn't really matter.
Key tactics in this strategy:
|
Get yourself a nice burglar's outfit, black cat suit, big leather gloves, sturdy rope and a cane that transforms into a pair of bolt cutters. No, really. |
|
Buy a decent pair of glasses. You're gonna need 'em for the fine work. |
|
Oh, and a bigger wallet. Essential, that. |
