The original poster has that rather painterly, montage-y feel which doesn't work too badly. But for our money there's a lot to be said for the minimalist, shadowy Freddy Krueger silhouette that headlines the remake. Sure, the put-the-bad-guy-front-and-centre gimmick has been overused of late, but it's still remarkably effective in cases where your baddie is as recognisable as Freddy.
