That's A Wig, Isn't It? | Sean Connery as Zed That's A Wig, Isn't It?
Sean Connery as Zed
Zardoz

Chances are if Connery's in a movie, he'll be tonsorially-augmented. He's had wedge cuts (The Hunt For Red October), shoulder-length locks (Highlander) and, for Never Say Never Again, a dead beaver. But for Zardoz, John Boorman's demented take on The Wizard Of Oz, Connery outdid himself by donning a red nappy, red bullet holsters, knee-high leather pirate boots and a long braided pony tail. When it comes to humiliating yourself in children's underwear, Sean has no equal.

I'd like to nominate Patrick Swayze as Bodhi (Point Break) and Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory). Swayze for looking like Bill S Preston Esquire ten years on and Depp for working Marilyn Manson meets Delia Smith. Read More

The call for Nicolas Cage is spot on, as any wig list is incomplete without the ultimate syrup wearer. His barnet in Nation Treasure 1 was worthy of a Best Supporting Oscar. His hairpiece in Bangkok Dangerous was truly something to behold, how it remained attached to the back half of his head for the entire movie was a miracle His rug in Next was also ludicrous, almost as much as his coupling with Jessica Biel I would suggest that when his hair is short (Lord of War) his films are pretty good, but then The Wicker Man spoils that theory. What? Are you trying to tell us you couldn't find a Nicolas Cage syrup worthy of mention? I mean, c'mon, very often they are the only performances of note in a Cage vehicle. Shoddy and lazy journalism (?) ;o) Read More
