Seven Great Movie Tennis Matches | The Witches Of Eastwick (1987)
The Witches Of Eastwick (1987)
The Players: Daryl Van Horne (Jack) and Jane Spofford (Susan Sarandon) vs Alexandra Medford (Cher) and Sukie Ridgemont (Michelle Pfeiffer).

Key Spectators: This is a very private club.

Oh I Say! In a grudge match of mixed doubles - Jane whacks the ball straight into Alex and Sukie's body - the rules change towards the business end of the game as Sukie's sky shot fails to come down and the ball takes on a life of its own. Firstly in an amazing phase of play where the ball become a blur and Darryl nonchalantly returns it hand on hip. Then when everything goes to slow as Jane knocks it back tying her shoes and Sukie returns it with a cheeky use of a bum. To end the game Daryl knocks it high into the heavens, producing thunderbolts and lightning. Maleficio!

Tips for any younger players watching: Practice all you want but you are much better off getting in league with the Devil. Also all the racquet technology in the world isn't as miraculous as Michelle Pfeiffer's arse.

No list of movie tennis matches could possibly be complete without Terry-Thomas versus Ian Carmichael in the classic British comedy School for Scoundrels: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkfT7p6kBE0 Read More
