Half Life
Original Story: Newly recruited scientist Gordon Freeman begins his first day at a secret government facility only to have a dimensional experiment go awry and aliens invade en masse.
Movie Treatment: Eric Bana as the geeky but heroic scientist (See Hulk for previous experience) who takes up a sturdy crowbar and takes on the xeno threat in a Die Hard meets Aliens action opus. Failing that, someone could always option expansion pack Blue Shift and draft the Broken Lizard troupe to play hapless security guards caught in the middle of a world-changing event - to hilarious consequences, naturally.
Guaranteed Crowdpleaser: The moment the 'cavalry' shows up. "Thank God, it's the marines, I'm so glad you're… aieeeeeeeeee!"
