Resident Evil 4

Original Story: Secret agent Leon Kennedy travels to Eastern Europe on the trail of the president's kidnapped daughter. The backward locals are less than friendly, mind, and bullets don't seem to have much effect on their homicidal temperaments.

Movie Treatment: First off, pretend the first two films don’t exist - if Highlander 3 can do it, so can this. Next get a restraining order out against Paul Anderson - this is the best scripted of all the Resident Evil games with some truly chilling set-pieces, so there's no need for cheap scares or hack-job adaptation here. Think Deliverance meets The Hills Have Eyes with a dash of 28 Days Later thrown in for good measure.

Guaranteed Crowdpleaser: Cast Kiefer Sutherland as Leon, Elisha Cuthbert as the first daughter and watch the box office swell.
