"The Text List"
Used primarily in teaser posters – and often unveiled before the film has actually wrapped – the just-give-'em-the-names technique is simple, direct and frequently impressive. Well, as long as you have a truly impressive cast, that is. This is why you're more likely to see it used by movies boasting older, more established stars rather than, say, the cast of The Breakfast Club. Sorry about that, Ms. Ringwald.
