"Why does Eternal Sunshine touch people? I don't know, I could guess… It's a subject that I think everybody lives with: relationships and the pain of dissolving relationships, and the hopefulness of trying again with someone or being able to see someone for what they are. I think it's a fairly common thing for people to wrestle with.I keep the Oscar on a shelf in the guestroom at my house. I have memories of Oscar night, not strong ones, but I remember it like anything else that happened several years ago. What I remember is that at the party afterwards I met Harvey Keitel in the bathroom and he said something funny like, "I always knew we'd meet here", that's what he said. And Pierce Brosnan shook my hand. I don't have any other celebrity memories of that night."
