6. A View To A Kill
From: A View To A Kill (1985)
Performed by: Duran Duran
Bond goes Eighties, as Duran Duran wrap their glam-synth approach around the Bond theme, imposing dramatic, swooping sound effects and faux brass over a lyric that, even by the standards of Bond themes, is utterly ridiculous. But for the killer chorus alone, in which Simon Le Bon does his best to sound like Dame Shirley, this deserves its place on the list. And it's also nice to note that Roger Moore's final film as Bond was marked by a theme tune that would probably have put his back out if he tried to dance to it.
Best lyrics: "The first crystal tears, fall as snowflakes on your body / First time in years, to drench your skin with lovers' rosy stain"
