10. The Man With The Golden Gun
From: The Man With The Golden Gun (1974)
Performed by: Lulu
Big-voiced Scottish singer Lulu rips into this swinging, snarling, hugely enjoyable track, coming across like a cross between Shirley Bassey and Liam Gallagher. From its dramatic intro, mixing Barry brass with squealing guitar, this Goldfinger-esque paean to Bond villain Scaramanga is two and a half minutes of superbly overblown Bondian attitude. Barry himself couldn't stand the song, deeming it the worst of his Bond themes, but it's a damn sight better than the Alice Cooper track that it replaced. Maybe we love it for the outrageous lyrics, dripping with single entendres that even 007 might have balked at.
Best lyrics: "His eye may be on you or me / Who will he bang? / We shall see. Oh yeah!"
