1974 Mary Goodnight Played by Britt Ekland Britt Ekland played a different sort of Bond girl with her comic turn as Mary Goodnight in The Man With the Golden Gun (1974). She is Bond's contact on a mission in the Far East, but turns out to be as bumbling as she is beautiful. Producers upgraded Swedish Ekland's role when they saw her in a bikini, and she went on to international stardom, married Bond satirist Peter Sellers, and remains one of the most enduringly gorgeous of the Bond girls.
