New Jack City

Released: 1991
Director: Mario Van Peebles
Starring: Ice T, Chris Rock

There are some people out there who don’t like Chris Rock. They find him too loud, too brash, too… annoying, really. If you’re one of those people, you’re going to enjoy this scene very much, showing as it does a young Rock getting chased down by Ice T. Plus, it's also overseen by Mario Van Peebles, the man who brought us Jaws: The Revenge, and therefore is a man who knows how to inflict pain. Hard.

22 Where the hell is Seven?
"Plus, got to leave one out otherwise there'd be nothing to talk about, right?" You don't leave out Seven, that's nearly as bad as if you'd left out Point Break. Shocking!!!! More

23 Death Sentence?
Where's the chase through the car park from this? Whatever you think about the film (for the record, I think it's pretty good), it's a fantastic sequence. More

25 Bottle Rocket
Surely the scene from Bottle Rocket where Dignan is chased by the cops. With Rollings Stones '2000 Man' it's pretty gripping and emotional. More

26 Quantum of Solace
So people don't like this one as much because the name is too confusing, or something. But it might be my favorite Bond, and his chase of Mitchell is great. Chase through the sewers all the way through the streets and onto a bell tower? amazing. More

27 Heat
Heat is, of course, a fantastic foot chase but I decided not to put it in because it had too much shooting (see also Lethal Weapon and Gibson vs. Busey) and not enough running and suchlike. Definitely was in our longlist, but was cut out. Sorry about that! As for Se7en, well, Se7en should be in there but honestly I couldn't find my goddamn DVD of it anywhere. Plus, got to leave one out otherwise there'd be nothing to talk about, right? Right? *cough* More

Long time reader, but never felt the need to comment before. Really like the list, but this is a massive miss. Heat is an iconic chase, and its amazing! Big miss! More
