This year has been another belter in the movie-related viral video department. Our Facebook, Twitter, Google + and Tumblr pages have been positively heaving with so many clever clips, spoofs and skits over the course of 2013 that the very best have spilled over into this special list feature. This means that even if you missed these at the time, you can still laugh your proverbial socks off watching them right here, right now – and then recommend them to your less web-savvy friends as if you’d seen them all before anyway...

Before After Earth crashed and burned at cinemas – all right, it made $243 million worldwide off a $120 million budget, so it didn’t do as badly as you’ve heard – father and son team Will and Jayden Smith were out and about on the publicity circuit, drumming up interest in their post-apocalyptic thriller. Happily for all of us, they teamed up with Smith Senior’s Fresh Prince Of Bel Air buddy Alfonso Ribeiro to do ‘The Carlton Dance’ to do so, earning Graham Norton’s BBC YouTube page nearly 20 million hits in the process.
