ARBITRAGE

Nicholas Jarecki’s high-achieving Wall Street drama scored a heavyweight cast (Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, Tim Roth, Brit Marling) for its narrative of a hedge fund mogul losing his precarious grip at the top. Financial irregularities are tangled with the concealment of an accidental death and the ensuing investigation of Roth’s laconically dogged cop, making for a satisfyingly complex, grown-up thriller. 1 A Pervert's Guide to Ideology
I'm an Afrikaans-speaking South African and what I find mind-boggling is how close the Slovenian accent is to an Afrikaans one! More

3 A HIJACKING
I did actually watch that one - but I'm Danish, so that's not really insanely surprising.. It was good, but not what I expected it to be like when I saw the trailer and read about it beforehand... More

8 Europa Report??
I would definitely add that to this list... seeing as it didn't really have a cinema release and sort of snook out under the radar! One of the best films I saw this year, utterly gripping from start to finish, and I still think about it now, months later! More

9 The Borderlands
Glad to see the Borderlands in your list. Saw this at "Mayhem" in Nottingham and had the pleasure of speaking to Robin Hill, who is a top top bloke. This is a brilliant film. More

11 RE: WHITE TIGER - THE DUBBING...
Some nice choices in there. If you have the channel, Sky Atlantic has been showing The Act of Killing. It and Gatekeepers are currently in my top 10 for the year. From the list, one I missed and I'll certainly be looking out for is THe Borderlands. THat said, if you managed to miss Arbitrage that makes you a luckier person than me More
