Ben Affleck: A Movie-By-Movie Guide | Shakespeare In Love (1998)
Shakespeare In Love (1998)

Putting the ‘ham’ into Hamlet, Affleck has a ball as Elizabethan Russell Brand-alike Ned Alleyn, ramping up the thespianism to wild and woolly levels, and royster-doystering to his heart’s content. Yes, the faint American accent is a bit incongruous in sixteenth century Cheapside but he throws himself into the fray and steal scenes in what should by rights have been a bit-part cameo. Perhaps the least likely Shakespearean casting since a heavily-oiled Keanu Reeves turned up as the bad guy (and Denzel Washington’s half-brother) in Much Ado About Nothing, and equally memorable.

Quality feature - well worth it just for the last page - I'd never seen either of those two clips. Handsome Men Club was funny, and it was interesting to see all the cameos. However, The "Ben Affleck" video had me in stitches - I don't know how long this has been kicking around the internet, but it's been long time since I've seen something that has had me laughing so much it hurt ! I had to watch it again just to try and spot all the cameos in it.   The fact that Affleck is willing to send himself up like this grants him a lot of respect from me (not that I imagine that matters sp; Top class!
