Alan Tudyk On Alan Tudyk | … On Wash’s fate in Serenity
… On Wash’s fate in Serenity

It’s shocking, and I was really moved by the Kaylee line. You know, the character Kaylee says afterwards when they move on, “Wait a minute, where’s Wash?”, and it was so sad! And then Zoe says, “He ain’t coming,” it’s so, so sad.

After I read it I called Joss – he had told me before, “Just call me when you’re done reading it,” so I knew something bad was coming, or just potentially very embarrassing. As he explained it, it was to raise the stakes on the movie. At that point in the story, everybody starts to get injured and it looks like nobody’s gonna make it out alive and with Wash dead, there’s a moment where you actually think: “He’s just gonna kill everybody!” Especially when the doctor goes down and three other people have gone down, it’s like, there’s no way out! They’re running out of ammunition, there’s just no out. So I think it worked. If it didn’t work, I’d be mad, but Wash died in the service of something greater than himself: the story.

Hampstead Bandit, we could comment until we cry ourselves to sleep at the personal injury that was the cancellation of Firefly. :(( Damn Fox to HELL! More

2 "I am a leaf on the wind - watch how I soar"
Most importantly, Mr Tudyk does get to come out with one of the greatest lines in geekdom history. Just what does that mean?! God, I loved Firefly/Serenity; the greatest TV show that never was. More

4 Strangers With Candy
One of his best rolls to date was on the two-part episode of Strangers With Candy as a cult leader. He was absolutely hilarious. He had some of the best dialogue. More

5 Firefly?
how come no comments about the sublime TV show "Firefly" (which led to the movie Serenity after massive fan protests at the cancellation of the TV show after barely a season) Firefly has just been released on HD Blu-Ray, a comment from the good Mr. Tudyk would have been fantastic good article otherwise.... 7 Tudyk for Hulk!
Alan Tudyk is a genius. He should so play Bruce Banner, as long as they go back to the "don't make him angry" as opposed to "don't let his heart rate get too high" What was that all about? I'm fairly certain that for people who aren't sicko's rage and sexual excitement aren't usually connected..... Anyway, the moment when he changes from a hippy environmentalist architect to a serial killer in Dollhouse with absolutely nothing but a change in posture and facial expression is amazing. He even manages to make his clothes seem to change from pyjamas to a serious outfit. More
