The A To Z Of Tim Burton | Tom Jones
The A To Z Of Tim Burton | Tom Jones

Tom Jones

Mars Attacks! is an unfairly overlooked Burton, a colourful, utterly barmy 1950s pastiche based on the trading cards of the same name. Burton pairs an all-star cast, gleefully sending themselves up, with the Dayglo cinematography of the B movie and a horde of ack-ack-acking Martians. But it's his choice of heroes that we'll remember forever: humanity is saved by Slim Whitman's cheesy Indian Love Song, and it's Tom Jones that saves one band of unfortunates from the Martians' rapacious attack. Yes, that Tom Jones - who, as the credits start to roll, breaks into a celebratory rendition of It's Not Unusual. As you do.

2 Make us a film please Tim?

The Batman films Tim did were always the best. I always used to read the Batman graphic novels and later there was a Robin set also. It would be good if Tim could make a Robin film, the kind of dark, gothic look would be perfect and you could count on it being well made. The film would write itself virtually and im sure plenty of people would go see it. Hope for it by 2011ish, sure it will make a packet :-) Read More
