The A To Z Of Richard Curtis | Bill Nighy
B  (Again)
Bill Nighy

In the spirit of About Time, we've gone back and done 'B' again... this time with its co-star to the fore. Bill Nighy and Richard Curtis are now four projects into their fruitful partnership – five, if you include an uncredited Nighy turn in the Curtis-penned Doctor Who episode in 2005 – with the actor's Bryan Ferry-like turn as rocker Billy Mack in Love Actually an Ant-and-Dec-baiting highpoint. "I love working with Richard, as you may have spotted," smiled Nighy on About Time's set. "I love being directed by Richard, I love being around him and I love his writing." This time out he ditches the drugs and booze to play Domhnall Gleeson's dad, but the pairing goes from strength to strength. "It's easy for a certain class of filmmaker to concentrate on how bad things can get – and it's sort of what gets you laid, you know what I mean?" he says, "but Richard concerns himself with things that I have great enthusiasm for."
