The A To Z Of Quentin Tarantino
Quentin Tarantino is back on the big screen with Inglourious Basterds, his spaghetti-spawned homage to classic war movies that does to the Nazi Party what Pulp Fiction did to pawnshop ownership. To mark the occasion, we've assembled a compendium of classic Tarantino tricks and trademarks in celebration of the world's biggest geek director. Welcome to the alphabetical anthology of a true movie original...

Wild Ideas

Don't be surprised to see QT spin-off past glories in years to come, including the soon-to-be-complete Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair now with added anime carnage. although Double V Vega, his mooted Vic and Vincent Vega spin-off, is "kind of unlikely now", with Michael Madsen (51) and John Travolta (55) too old to reprise their Reservoir Dogs/Pulp Fiction roles. More likely is a Basterds-in-the-USA spaghetti Western. Tarantino's childhood fantasies rained down justice on the KKK and he hints at a Dirty Dozen meets Birth Of A Nation-style bash-up. "Once they get through with Europe, they could go to the South and do it to the Kluxers in the '50s." After that, would Basterds Vs. Expendables be too much to hope for?

5 Original?
Posted on Thursday August 20, 2009, 09:30 by Nicky C
Interesting ... Tarantino does acknowledge his own influences, but his style is still his own. So, does this make him a post-modern auteur, or could he be more easily described as an auteur working withing a post-modern world. Read More

Good feature... but for a man who more than wears his influences on his sleeve I don't think the term 'original can be applied! Oh and if you speak to him tell him to stop making films in chapters! Read More
