This now infamous Victoria's Secret advert contains so many Bay-isms that it's as if our man Michael challenged himself to cram in as many of his own clichés as possible - all while ostensibly trying to get rich people to buy posh pants. After all, it's got a slow motion shot of a near-naked girl walking towards the camera (check), a tub thumping rock soundtrack (check), a glamorous car (check), a glamorous girl getting out of a glamorous car (check), a helicopter (check), a girl leaning on a motorbike (check), lightbulbs flashing (check), extreme facial close-ups (check), constantly moving cameras (check), aggressive and frequent cutting (check), and HUGE EXPLOSIONS (check). Oh, and beautiful women (check). Although of course that was probably predictable in a Victoria's Secret ad.

I don't know why people have a problem with Bay's films. You know what you're getting, so surely you just avoid them if they're not for you. They're generally excellent popcorn, action flicks.
There are some I didn't care for, some I though were rubbish and some I thought were really good.
Transformers isn't aimed at my age group, so I watched the first (missed the first twenty minutes, and still have never seen it) and found it watchable enough. I was too old to have grown up with the toys but I didn't find the movie half as offensive as many action films.
I actually think Bay have a very good eye for framing shots, angles, etc, and I'm happy to watch a film that's fast-edited. I think he's more than capable of making a calmer, less action orientated movie, but he enjoys making the films he makes, they're successful and millions seem to enjoy his work, so long may it continue.
