IMAX

We've borrowed from Memento and flipped IMAX on its head - a trick Christopher Nolan has pulled off more than once. Going 70mm, with its weighty cameras, is a fairly restrictive business, but if you're one of the lucky sods clutching a ticket to an IMAX screening of The Dark Knight Rises, you can thank Wally Pfister and his aching back for the no-doubt remarkable spectacle. Pfister initially hinted that the whole film would be shot in IMAX, but, while that proved impractical, more than an hour of the film's 164 minute runtime is shot in the mega-screen format. And frankly, we're kinda glad he didn't have to haul a 200lb camera down that bat-infested well.
