Bowie
The Prestige was the film in which we found out how many Bowie it takes to c-c-c-hange a lightbulb. Answer: one, if he was playing Nikola Tesla. Nolan's casting of Bowie as Tesla, the man behind electromagnetism and the Tesla Coils in Command & Conquer (among other things), is one of the many joys of The Prestige. He lights up the screen in every sense as the dashing Serbian boffin, a key cameo based loosely around Tesla's sojourn in Colorado Springs in 1899. We say "loosely" because there's no evidence Tesla actually created cats by magic. Bowie's 'Something In The Air' also plays out Memento; another, if more lateral, Nolan cameo.
