Best Film
Jaws. Da-dum. Da-dum. Da-dum, da-dum, da-dum need we say more? Well, yes, probably, and here it is: it's one of the best films ever made, if not the best, and it's still pant-wettingly scary 30 years after it was made.
Notable Pairings
Jaws, Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, Always

What's The Secret Of Their Success?
Well, sheer unadulterated mutual admiration has got to be part of it. Dreyfuss has said of Spielberg that: "He is a recognized genius and has reintroduced the concept of awe into our lives" - words not spoken lightly after all, but after making Jaws and Close Encounters with him, it's easy to see why. Spielberg has returned the compliment, describing Dreyfuss as his "alter-ego". And with a friendship like that and talent likes theirs, how could you not make a good movie? Apart from Always, of course. Ahem.

Were They As Good With Anyone Else?
Could you ever match Jaws, Richard? Well, no, not really, but his Oscar-winning turn in The Goodbye Girl deserves a mention, as does Mr Holland's Opus. As for Spielberg, well no-one really knows what became of him. Last we heard were rumours that he'd turned to magazine editing
