There Will Be Blood (2007) The character of Daniel Plainview was modelled loosely on Californian oilman Edward L. Doheny, ciphered through the fictional Vern Roscoe in Upton Sinclair’s Oil! Daniel Day-Lewis borrowed the rough-hewn mannerisms of John Huston for the crude-craving lunatic. Also, we’d like to think, just enough of milkshake-addicted conductor Alberto Frog to make our ‘There Will Be Bod’ joke work.
