Alien (1979) H. R. Giger and a member of his team put the finishing touches on the Space Jockey during Alien's Shepperton shoot. The Swiss designer was dubbed 'Dracula' on set thanks to his black wardrobe and airlock-cool demeanour, even as a summer heatwave nudged the thermostat towards three figures. His supersized spaceman was nearly cut from the film by 20th Century Fox, who argued that it served no purpose in the plot and was too expensive, but Ridley Scott fought to keep it. Guess who was proved right.

I am the boom operator in this fabulous publicity photo Number 25 from "The Dark Knight". (the guy in the red t-shirt). We filmed this sequence in the Farmeloe Building near Smithfield Market in London.I remember being the first person to shake Heath Ledger's hand on his final shoot day in Cardington hangar Bedford. Not to congratulate him on his achievement, but because I wanted to get his radio mic off him and go home! Heath thought I was holding out my hand to shake it!
