Sixties Batman
As the early dark incarnation of the Forties gave way to the brighter, lighter tone of the Fifties, so the flower power influence of the Sixties saw the Dark Knight fall headlong into freaky psychedelia. The Batman TV show introduced a blue-purple and gray version of the batsuit with a noticeably shorter cape and tiny ears.
In keeping with the fey nature of the show, white eyebrows were painted on the cowl and Batman's gadgets were employed for a variety of groan-inducing gags (such "useful" items included a flask for storing alphabet soup and shark-repellent spray). The camp age of Batman had reached its pinnacle and an inevitable return to the dark ages was on the cards...
